Do you want to write a book and get it published?
The Sir Lindsay and Lady Ride Memorial Fund was
set up by the Royal Asiatic Society Hong Kong Branch in December 2003
with an initial grant of HK$400,000. This was supplemented by a further
£30,000 donated by the JD Clague Charitable Trust.
The Trust provides financial assistance towards
the publication of books in the Royal Asiatic Society Hong Kong Studies
Series by the Hong Kong University Press. These publications are on
subjects related to Hong Kong, Macau and South China, and are either
outside the reach of ordinary academic publication criteria or not of a
suitably commercial nature to make publication viable without such
financial support.
The Trust can also make small grants for research
or data collection in connection with projects that the Trustees deem
worthy of the Fund’s support.
Anyone seeking such financial assistance should in
the first instance email the Chairman of the Trustees, John Strickland,
at strickja@netvigator.com describing the subject of the book, its state
of completion and any other relevant information to allow the Trustees
to consider the matter.
