Hong Kong University Library Digital Initiatives provides access to local collections originally in print format

Hong Kong Journals Online is a full-text image database providing access to selected academic and professional journals, in English and Chinese, published in Hong Kong, including law, medicine and education

The Public Records Office of the Government Records Service has the following online collections:

archival materials - government records and private records and personal papers donated to by private individuals
the Central Preservation Library – government publications from the 1840s
the Carl Smith collection – an index of almost 140,000 records, indexed from a vast quantity of original material, newspapers and publications
Archives for Still and Moving Images – an index of over 10,000 photographs, films, posters, plans and maps

Hong Kong Government Reports Online (1853-1941) provides access to Administrative Reports, Hong Kong Sessional Papers, Hong Kong Hansard and the Hong Kong Government Gazette

Records of the Sittings of the Legislative Council (Hansard) for the years from 1884 to present

Historical Laws of Hong Kong provides access to consolidated editions of the laws of Hong Kong (for 1890, 1901, 1912, 1923, 1937, 1950, and 1964)

Google Scholar searches the web for scholarly articles
