Local Visit - Engaging Past Wisdom: Min Chiu Society at Sixty-five Exhibition

  • Hong Kong Museum of Art  10 Salisbury Road Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon Hong Kong SAR China (map)

The exhibition: “Engaging Past Wisdom: Min Chiu Society at Sixty-five”, celebrates the 65th anniversary of the Min Chiu Society, a renowned group of collectors devoted to Chinese art and antiquities. Held at the Hong Kong Museum of Art, the exhibition features over 400 sets of rare artefacts—from ceramics and bronzes to calligraphy, jades, and furniture—each reflecting centuries of cultural wisdom and artistic mastery.  Through their forms and motifs, these artefacts reflect a reverence for nature, cosmic harmony, and the Dao, transcending mere utility to embody deeper symbolic meaning.

Guided by the Society’s motto, “revere antiquity while diligently seeking knowledge,” the showcase invites visitors to explore the deeper meanings behind these timeless works.  A rare opportunity for visitors to engage with heritage, beauty, and the enduring spirit of Chinese craftsmanship.

Presented as part of the Chinese Culture Promotion Series, the exhibition is jointly presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and the Min Chiu Society, co-organised with the Hong Kong Museum of Art, and sponsored by the Friends of Hong Kong Museum of Art.
