Local Visit - Sun Yat Sen Historical Trail Tour - Mr. Thomas Wong

  • Dr. Sun Yat Sen Museum 7 Castle Road Mid-Levels, Hong Kong Island Hong Kong SAR China (map)

In a dynamic global city, Hong Kong’s Western-style education and atmosphere of freedom fostered the radical ideas of a young Dr. Sun Yat-sen. As the prime mover of the 1911 Revolution, Sun’s ties to the city’s Central and Western Districts are profound. This immersive journey connects his personal biography with the dramatic events that changed a nation forever, revealing how Hong Kong served as the essential staging ground for the Xinhai Revolution and an indispensable part of the city's establishment on the world stage.

By joining this tour, you will trace an inspiring journey through the historic streets of the Central and Western Districts, witnessing the city's transformation into a crucial revolutionary sanctuary. Participants will encounter the schools, residences, and clandestine meeting places that served as the secret base for the uprisings, uncovering how this urban landscape nurtured Sun’s political awakening and network of supporters. The experience is further anchored by a dedicated stop at the Dr. Sun Yat-sen Museum, where rare artifacts, photographs, and curated exhibits illuminate the visionary ideas and enduring legacy of the "Father of Modern China.”
